Where do trends come from?

Trends come from society and the environment.
Influence can come from various directions: haute couture, street fashion, pop culture, music, architecture, technology and many other areas of society.

Some trends emerge rapidly, others may take years to appear. Consequently we work new trends in parallel with those trends which develop over a period of time.

Some may take time to develop and then a major factor may accelerate or decelerate this trend.

A trend is detected by observing what's new in society, what's developing and what's potentially unique. From this we can work out what direction the market is moving towards and what trends are to come. We can therefore anticipate in terms of colour and tissues so as to be in line with the current trend.

So when travel agents start putting the emphasis on tropical destinations, an exotic trend busts forth in all sectors of activity, this takes form in cookery books, an increase in import of goods and furniture from far away destinations and a desire to open up to the traditiona and colours of the world. The consumer becomes a "nomadic citizen", travelling in and through this interior decoration. A pinch of dreams, a dash of exotic tissues and textiles; a whole world of discovery and new horizons…
Warm and natural colours which are in line with this style are given voice in the colour and the textiles of the floors which sing of far away destinations.

How can we define trends?

We keep a constant eye on the press, trade fairs and shows, the market, cultural events and developing expressions in the private and public housing sector. This workgroup can then help us predict the colours and themes to come.
